A perda é tremenda para a Casa da Achada – Centro Mário Dionísio, de que foi fundador em 2008, a cujos corpos gerentes pertenceu, e que ajudou a construir escrevendo textos, participando em conversas e debates, apresentando filmes, dando ideias.
Jorge Silva Melo foi aluno de Mário Dionísio no Liceu Camões – ver aqui um dos textos que escreveu sobre como isso o marcou. Leu textos de Mário Dionísio em voz alta. Escreveu sobre a sua obra. Fez o Prefácio a Poesia Completa (2016). Conviveu com o professor que admirava, em diversas ocasiões.
Grande amigo de Eduarda Dionísio, que esteve com ele em vários projectos colectivos. Entre eles, a viagem colectiva de estudantes ao Festival de Teatro de Avignon (1968), o Grupo de Teatro da Faculdade de Letras (1969), a revista Crítica (1971-1972), a campanha eleitoral do PSR (como independentes) para o Parlamento Europeu e o jornal «Combate» (1987), a fundação da Abril em Maio – associação cultural (1994), além da Casa da Achada-Centro Mário Dionísio.
